The functions of each valve group of small cutter suction dredgers:
1. The left and right traversing valve groups control the retraction and release (forward and reverse) of the dredger's left and right traversing winch drums, respectively. On the valve group is an electro-hydraulic reversing valve. If the dredger traversing winch suddenly stops moving during operation, the electro-hydraulic reversing valve may be stuck (or the solenoid valve may be out of power) and the solenoid valve coil may be damaged. At this point, remove the reversing valve, clean it with clean diesel oil, and reinstall it in the reverse direction (Note: there may be internal damage to the hydraulic motor driving the winch of the dredger). Rocker switches on the left and right traverses or button controls on the console.
2. Bridge lifting winch valve group: This valve group is used to control the dredger winch frame's lifting and lowering. An electro-hydraulic reversing valve and a balance valve control lifting in the valve group. If the hoisting winch does not move while lifting the dredger winch frame, the electro-hydraulic reversing valve may be stuck (or the solenoid valve is out of power and the coil is damaged). At this point, remove the reversing valve. (Take note of the direction and position.) Clean it with fresh diesel oil and reinstall it. The cutter rocker switch or button on the dredger's operating platform controls the valve group.
3. Positioning pile valve group: This valve group controls the rise and fall of the dredger's left and right positioning piles. An electro-hydraulic reversing valve controls the rising of the left and right positioning piles; a solenoid valve controls the descending of the left and right positioning piles; and a hydraulic control check valve comprises the valve group. If the dredger's left and right positioning piles do not rise, it could be because the electro-hydraulic reversing valve is stuck, the hydraulic control check valve is stuck, or the electromagnetic power is out, and the coil is damaged. Remove the reversing valve or the hydraulic control check at this time. Clean it with clean diesel oil (keep in mind the direction and position when disassembling it) and reinstall it. The valve group is controlled by the dredger's operating console's left and right positioning pile rocker switches or buttons. A throttle needle valve at the stern of the hull controls the slow release of the stern pile.
